Famous Baglans

Baglan is a village in Wales, named after Saint Baglan. Located in the Neath Port Talbot County Borough, the village’s featured establishments are the Baglan house, and Saint Baglan’s Church. The latter was burned in a fire in 1954. Only its shell remains.

Baglan Bay is part of the Swansea Bay Coastline. During the 19th century, valuable minerals were exported from Baglan Pill. In 1963 BP produced a petrochemical plant at this location near the BP oil Refinery.

The Baglan Bay Power Station and the Baglan Energy Park were developed by BP, along with the Welsh Development Agency, and the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. This energy park is also home to the Baglan Bay Innovation Centre.
