Another figure is Welsh folklore with this moniker is Twm Siôn Cati. Known as the “Welsh Wizard”. Born near Tregaron, Cardiganshire in or around 1530, Siôn Cati whose real name was Thomas Jones was a thief known to rob from the wealthy. Twm Siôn Cati used clever tricks to dupe his victims.

Today the name Siôn is still relevant in our culture, like the actor Siôn Davies or the British politician Siôn Simon.
